For any graphic designers or individuals in the advertising field that have already started out, and have miraculously stumbled upon this, it would be great if you'd fill this out! hahaha, it was worth the try. =)

ADVERTISING & GRAPHIC DESIGN QUESTIONNAIRE

Humber College students in the COMM 300 class want to find out the different struggles and conflicts that can arise when starting out in the Advertising & Graphic Design Industry. When want to know how difficult it was for you to find a job after graduating from your programs in the Advertising & Graphic Design field. This information will help us come up with recommendations that would create the whole experience of looking for a job, after graduation, much more easier for Humber College students in the Advertising & Graphic Design program. Your input would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

2. How long did it take you to find your first job after graduating from your program?


3. When looking for a job after graduating from your program, did you feel qualified?


4. Did your instructors/teachers/professors give you information about what was expected when applying for a job in your field? If no, do you have any recommendations?


5. Did the teachers explore the different job opportunities you could undertake?


6. When looking for a job in your field after graduation, were there any roadblocks into getting hired? What were the causes of those roadblocks?



7. Did instructors take the time to introduce you to your field through:

a) Job fairs
b) Orientations
c) Company representatives



8. Were you encouraged in your programs to do research about your field outside of class?


9. Did your instructors explore the different skills and knowledge required and the proper way to approach the field when starting out in the industry? If yes, what kind of knowledge and skills were they? do you think these skills helped you find a job sooner?
